Lymphoma - Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma patient

PET/CT Findings
There is a tiny lymph node within the right axilla, demonstrating moderate uptake of FDG. There is a leftsided epitrochlear lymph node measuring approximately 1.0 cm that also demonstrates moderate uptake. Please note, that per history, the patient's right epitrochlear node was diagnosed as having non- Hodgkin's lymphoma.

There are scattered areas of mesenteric lymph nodes with mild to moderate uptake. Finally, there are bilateral inguinal lymph nodes, one of which demonstrates FDG avidity, measuring approximately 1.0 cm.

Dosage
15.0 mCi F-18 FDG IV

Impression
Mild to moderate uptake noted within the right axilla left epitrochlear region, scattered within the mesentery, and within the right inguinal region corresponding to small lymph nodes and consistent with malignancy.

Discussion
This is another great example of how PET/CT can improve the confidence level of the interpreting physician. These small areas of involvement might have been overlooked on CT alone given their size and location. By having the fused images available, the interpretation of small or borderline lymph nodes becomes much more definitive.

Treatment/Follow up
